The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt Is the Most Affordable EV

July 26th, 2022 by

The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt is set to become the most affordable electric vehicle on the market. It will cost much less than the 2022 model year and be eligible for special GM reimbursements. On top of amazing savings, the 2023 Bolt EV will have several new features, including a new exterior color option, front and rear floor liners, and an illuminated charging port.

Better Pricing, More Savings

The 2023 Bolt models will save you thousands of dollars. Literally.

The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV will start at $26,595, which is $5900 less than the previous 2022 model. The price of the 2023 Bolt EUV will have a price cut of $6300 over the 2022 model, coming in at just $28,195.

On top of the federal tax credit for electric vehicles, General Motors plans to reimburse U.S. customers who bought a Chevy Bolt EV or EUV in 2022 before the price cut on 2023 models was announced. New models from 2020 through 2022 will qualify, but only purchase, not lease, customers will be eligible.

New Features Coming in 2023

On the 2023 Bolt EV, DC Fast Charging is standard, enabling up to 100 miles of range in 30 minutes of charging. It will also feature a 11.5 kW onboard charging module and a dual-level charge cord—120V and 240V capability—with changeable plugs and SAE J1772 vehicle connection. Finally, the Bolt’s advanced 65+ kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack means you can go wherever you want, whenever you want.

The Bolt is also now equipped with Regen on Demand, which allows a driver to engage Regenerative Braking, converting kinetic energy into energy stored within the battery for future use. It’s activated with a simple pull on a steering wheel-mounted paddle. In addition, the 2023 Bolt features Intuitive Electric Precision Shift with a One Pedal Driving button. One Pedal Driving allows the driver to speed up, slow down, and even stop using only the accelerator pedal.

Powerful and Efficient Performance

Its electric drive is powered by a single electric motor and gears with a permanent magnet drive motor, which produces 200 horsepower and 150 kW. The compact EV gets an EPA-estimated range of 259 miles, while the 120V charges 4 miles/hr and the 240V gets a full charge in about 7 hours.

New Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2023 Bolt features the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with a 10.2-inch diagonal color touchscreen that delivers real-time vehicle information. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Upgraded Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on the 2023 Bolt. Safety features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, and IntelliBeam Auto High Beams. On 2LT models, Adaptive Cruise Control is also available. Other safety features are also available, including Cross Traffic Alert.
