Gordon Chevy Orange Park’s New Vehicle – The Chevy Blazer
Check out the newest addition to the Chevrolet Crossover-SUV segment, the All-New 2019 Chevy Blazer! I have detailed below some of the features available in this cool new SUV. If you are interested in what it is like to drive the Blazer, make sure you read the final paragraph in this article.
The Blazer is the latest member of the Chevy family. Its beauty is not just skin deep, which is really apparent when you get behind the wheel and drive it. It is the perfect commute vehicle offering EPA estimated fuel economy of 22 in the city and 27 on the highway. With comfortable two-row seating for five and an available 300 plus Horse Power 3.6 liter V6, it will satisfy those weekend trips with pleasure. It is sporty on the inside and outside with a comfortable cockpit that will surprise you.
Standard Blazer Equipment
The Blazer is available in front-wheel drive or All-wheel drive models. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and has the ability to tow up to 4,500 pounds when properly equipped. Some standard equipment included is the Active Noise Cancellation, designed to keep the interior quiet. Microphones in the cabin pick up unwanted road noise and cancel some of it. Also included in the Blazer is the StabiliTrak, electronic stability control system with traction control. It works automatically to help improve control of the vehicle, especially when making emergency maneuvers. It works to adjust braking and engine torque to help you stay on the intended path. It senses when it perceives a difference in your intentions and the direction the Blazer is going. It also includes traction control for slippery surfaces.
Several trim levels are available so you can pick the one that fits your personality. The elegant Premier with chrome accents and a premium leather/sued microfiber interior give a luxurious feel to the Blazer. The RS comes with a black mesh grille, a front air dam and black accents. The interior has leather appointed seating with red accents.
The Chevy Blazer Driving Modes
There are a couple of driving modes to choose from; When equipped with all-wheel drive, you can select Tour, All-Wheel Drive, Sport Mode, Off-Road or Tow Mode. Each change the character of the Blazer’s performance to suit your mood or need.
Safety features available include; Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which lets you know if a vehicle is approaching from the left or right rear of the vehicle. (especially helpful in a crowded parking lot) HD Rear Vision Camera, so you can see behind when backing. 7 Airbags to protect you in a collision. A first Aid Kit is available. Lane Change Alert with Blind Side Zone Alerts. You can also get rear park assist and a tire pressure monitoring system. Adaptive Cruise Control is available which uses the vehicle sensors to adjust your speed for other traffic. You can also add Lane Keep Assist. This feature gently moves the steering wheel, if you forget to signal, to keep the vehicle in the traffic lane. (frankly I find annoying because it reminds me when I’m not paying attention to the road)
The Blazer Interior
Jump in and you will love the Blazer interior. The seats are comfortable, the controls are easy to reach and manipulate and the styling is very satisfying. The use of the circular air vents remind you of a Camaro. (so does the V6) The interior is available with heated front power seats, leather appointed if you want and an 8-inch color diagonal touch screen. Also available is a Bose infotainment audio system with Navigation.
Entertainment and Navigation Systems
Each Blazer comes with the latest infotainment system. Pair your android or Apple phone for hands free calling, texting, navigation or for playing your favorite tunes. Add the 4G Wi-Fi service and your Blazer serves as a portal to the internet, perfect for working from the road.
Cargo Management System
The cargo management system has an available floor-mounted rail system to help keep the cargo in its place. You can add a cargo partition and net to secure it even further. (a great help when hauling the groceries) The space can be enlarged by folding all or part of the rear seat. There is plenty of room for two sets of golf bags, a cooler and a couple of bags of luggage. Max Cargo Volume is 64.2 Cubic Feet.
Complete Care; Chevy has got you covered. Each new Blazer comes with one maintenance visit, 5 years of 60,000 miles of roadside assistance, available courtesy transportation, and a limited powertrain warranty. They also have 3 year or 36,000-mile bumper to bumper limited warranty and a one-month trial of OnStar.
My Personal Impressions
I have the privilege of being able to drive any Chevy on the lot, and over the years I have tended to choose trucks or sport utilities. I like to sit up a little and since I am rather tall, I like the room they provide. I like the Silverado for the comfort, power and ride, the Colorado because it is easy to park, especially in my garage, the Equinox for its versatility and occasionally the Malibu for the sportiness.
The Blazer in my opinion has all of those characteristics. It feels sporty when you get behind the wheel, partly because of the steering wheel and the seats, but also because of the dash layout including the Camaro like air vents. (not to mention the 300+ HP motor) It has plenty of room for me and it sits up like an SUV. It has the versatility of the Equinox and it can be easily parked in the garage or any parking spot. It looks great too! Meet my new first choice for driving to work. If you get a chance, stop by and take one for a drive. You will want one too.
