What We Know About the ZR2 So Far
A new and exciting addition to Chevrolet’s truck lineup, the Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 is a heavy-duty pickup with the off-road capability of the light-duty Silverado ZR2. It is expected to offer both the atmospheric 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax.
The HD ZR2 is expected to get a host of upgrades that make it more capable off-roading. Upgrade will include new bumpers for better clearance, skid plates, heavy-duty dampers, and locking front and rear differentials. Along with larger tires, these new parts will improve the pickup’s ground clearance.

The Chevy Silverado ZR2 features multimatic DSSV dampers, front/rear electronic locking differentials, and AN off-road cut front bumper. It’s the next chapter of off-roading. The pickup’s exciting new features include new steel front and rear bumpers designed for off-road strength, durability, and clearance; enhanced 2-speed transfer case with Terrain Mode; 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory Mud Terrain tires; a large underbody aluminum skid plates allow for additional off-road protection; hidden dual-outlet exhaust; Black chrome grille with Chevy flowtie and accent lighting; a raised hood with styled black insert; ZR2-exclusive wheel flares; and animated LED headlamps with tracer animation and Black bezels.
