Chevy Trailblazer vs. Ford Escape

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer has a starting MSRP of $19,000. Meanwhile, the 2020 Ford Escape has a starting MSRP of $24,885. This makes the Trailblazer a more affordable option than the Escape, as well as the other competitors in this comparison. Here’s a quick breakdown of how the Trailblazer and Escape compare:

  • Performance: Both models come equipped with 3-cylinder engines, although their mpg ratings are unique. The Trailblazer earns 28 mpg city/31 mpg highway, while the Escape earns 27 mpg city/33 mpg highway.
  • Transmission & Drivetrain: The Trailblazer and Escape come with a 2-speed CVT and 8-speed automatic transmission, respectively. Both models come with FWD, but can be had with AWD.
  • Infotainment: The Chevy Trailblazer comes standard with its highest infotainment system: Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System. This suite includes features like Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™ and voice recognition. The Ford Escape does offer these features, but you’ll need to upgrade to a higher trim level to acquire Ford SYNC® 3.

Chevy Trailblazer vs. Buick Encore GX

The 2021 Buick Encore GX is a first-ever model from the GM manufacturer and is wider and longer than the standard Encore. It has a starting MSRP of $24,200, making it slightly more affordable than the Ford Escape, but more expensive than the Chevy Trailblazer. See how the Trailerblazer and Encore GX stack up below:

  • Performance: The Chevy Trailblazer and Buick Encore GX are both GM models, so it makes sense that they come with 137-hp 1.2L 3-cylinder engines and 2-speed CVTs. The Buick Encore GX earns the same mpg ratings as the Trailblazer and also offers available AWD.
  • Interior Dimensions: Although the Encore GX is larger than the Encore, it isn’t much of a match for the Trailblazer in terms of size. In fact, the Trailblazer bests the Encore GX in a couple of areas. Inside the Trailblazer, you’ll find 40 inches of front headroom and 39.4 inches of rear legroom, meaning more space for you and your passengers.
  • Cargo & Towing Capacities: In addition, the Trailblazer offers 54.4 cubic feet of cargo space vs. 50.2 cubic feet inside the Encore GX. Both models are also rated with a towing capacity of up to 1,000 pounds when properly equipped with a towing package.

Chevy Trailblazer vs. Honda CR-V

The 2021 Honda CR-V is the most expensive crossover SUV of this bunch with a starting MSRP of $25,350. When you compare the Chevy Trailblazer vs. Honda CR-V, you’ll notice that they both offer the following:

  • Cruise control
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Auto High-Beam Headlights
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Rear Vision Camera

Keep in mind, however, that the Chevy Trailblazer costs much less. Additionally, it comes standard with exclusive features like a 7-inch touchscreen, 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot capability, and Teen Driver technology — none of which are available for the base-level Honda CR-V configuration.
