Chevrolet developed Teen Driver technology to help parents coach their new drivers even when they cannot be in the passenger seat. This built-in system offers a suite of customizable features designed to encourage safe driving habits from day one.
Teen Driver is a built-in system integrated directly into the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 display. It is not a subscription service and does not require an app. Parents create a four-digit PIN in the settings menu to register a specific key fob. When the teen uses that registered key to start the vehicle, the system automatically activates the selected safety settings and limits.
The system allows parents to configure specific parameters to ensure their teen drives responsibly on I-95 or local surface streets.
One of the most valuable tools for coaching is the in-vehicle Report Card. This data log tracks driving performance and allows parents to review it with their teen to identify areas for improvement. The Report Card is password-protected and displays:
