2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2: Off-Road Specs, Price, and Equipment

The hardware below is standard on every ZR2.

You can order the ZR2 with either a gas V8 or a turbo-diesel, and both pair to a 10-speed automatic and 4WD. The 6.2L V8 makes 420 horsepower and runs on Premium fuel. The 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel makes less horsepower but more torque, 495 lb-ft, and returns markedly better fuel economy, about 6 more combined MPG.

The ZR2 sits at the top of a nine-trim Silverado 1500 ladder as the lineup's off-road pick. The Custom Trail Boss, the LT Trail Boss, and the ZR2 all leave the factory with a 2-inch lift, off-road-ready suspension, and red tow hooks, but only the ZR2 adds front and rear E-lockers and standard Multimatic DSSV dampers.

Which trim you choose comes down to how much of the hardware you actually need.

The Custom Trail Boss is the lowest-priced trim that includes the factory lift. The LT Trail Boss carries that same lift with more comfort and equipment on top of it. Pick the ZR2 if you want the whole off-road toolbox rather than the lift alone.
